Continuing to maintain and build strength as we age is an absolutely necessity, but it can be a little scary, overwhelming, and frustrating. As we age, it takes longer for our bodies to recover, there are more aches and pains when we move, we are afraid of doing anything that will make us hurt more, we aren’t sure how to safely exercise without further injuring ourselves. 

Lifting weights comes with risks if done incorrectly or adding load to quickly, but that doesn’t mean you should miss out on the many rewards of strength training. Identifying movement limitations or deficiencies before they become problematic can be vital in reducing risk of injury and increasing your performance.

I am a firm believer that age should never be a barrier to learning something new! Small, consistent changes can create a big impact on your health and on your life!

I work with people of all ages, meeting each individual where they are right now, taking into account each person’s movement restrictions and abilities. I am a huge stickler for proper form and believe that building strength on a weak foundation is a recipe for disaster. I the basic functional movement patterns with all my clients; Push, Pull, Lunge, Squat, Hinge, Rotate/Anti-rotation, Carry, etc.

Strength Training should not take away from a persons sport or hobby, it should be complementary! You should be training in the gym to become stronger for what ever hobby or sport you enjoy! Don’t play any sports or have any hobbies? Then you should be training for LIFE!!

My goal for all my clients is to become stronger and fitter, but to also become more aware of their daily movement habits, which can lead to future injuries or restrictions.
